Chinese company Xiaomi may just become the first company to launch
the cheapest phone with a flagship Snapdragon 808 processor and a USB
Type-C port, if a new report
is to be gone by. The phone in question is called the Mi 4c, and
Xiaomi is expected to launch it on September 22, according to the same
report.
On the downside, the Xiaomi Mi 4c is expected to be a
China-exclusive to begin with, with no word yet whether or not it would
make its way to global markets (including India) anytime soon.
If
you go by its rumoured spec-sheet, we are definitely looking at a
power-house of a phone. And, if its rumoured price is to be gone by, we
are also looking at another loaded phone with a highly aggressive
pricing. Considering Xiaomi's track record, you never know, it might
just come true.
So, what does the Xiaomi Mi 4c have in store for
us? Well, for one, it is expected to carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808
chip and will likely come in two variants: one carrying 16GB internal
storage and 2GB of RAM, and another carrying 32GB storage and 3GB RAM.
Considering Xiaomi is not known to pack in an expansion slot in its
phones, the Mi 4c is also expected to be without any microSD card slot.
Another
high-end feature would be the USB Type-C port that has recently found
its way to the mid-range segment courtesy the OnePlus 2. The Xiaomi Mi
4c is also expected to come with one along with an Infrared Port for
security purposes. Chances are, it may just skip a fingerprint sensor.
The
Xiaomi Mi 4c is expected to house a 3,080mAh battery which is fairly
big since the company's recently launched Redmi Note 2 - an affordable
phablet with a mighty fine spec sheet - is backed by a 3,060mAh battery.
It will most probably run Xiaomi's new MIUI 7 out-of-the-box.
Coming
to the pricing: the 16GB of the Mi 4c is expected to launch at around
$235 (roughly Rs.16,000), while the 32GB variant will likely be priced
at $250 (roughly Rs.17,000).
